This Pope should be totally ignored. He's said so much non-biblical stuff it is clear he is basically secular. The fact the college of cardinals chose him blows my mind. I think they just decided they need a Latin American pope and went with him. Horrible diversity based decision.

So we just stop tossing around all that Vicarius Christi stuff I learned in high school now?

You mean like the Bible?

Yes. The pope needs a savior like all men.

Yet another evidence that the Pope doesn't read the Bible.
So populist movements based on man's intentions work out well? Looking back through history, please give me populist movements which based themselves on the Gospel and worked towards that end.
I'll hang up and listen.

So would I but I still don't support globalism.

So have we reduced this to a black and white conversation? If you are opposed to populism you are automatically for globalism?
Isn't the Pope an inherently "globalist" position just as Jesus was a "globalist" in his lack of concern for nations beyond rendering to Caesar what is Caesar's?

The Pope needs to pray more, talk less.

Did I say you are for globalism if you are against populism?
I don't know a thing about you.

Pope is a supporter of globalism, which favors elistists. Populism doctrine is against the elitists. His comments shouldn't be a surprise.
The pope does not influence my thought in the least.

The Italian news is starting to talk about how Obama/United States forced out (coup) the last Pope to install this current Pope.
IDK if it has made it to an English based news source yet though. Just in Italian last I saw.

No you didn't. However the flavor of this thread is that "Pope says beware of populism, this is more evidence of him being a globalist". I was responding to that.

Is it possible that he abhors populism and is a globalist?
You must admit, this is the most liberal Pope of our lifetimes and possibly, ever.

I'm not Catholic so the Pope's opinion doesn't really matter much to me. Boehner, on the other hand, takes the Pope real serious.

How do you know which populism is created for and which populism is opposed to elitists?
Your statement that populism doctrine is against elitists looks pretty red, comrade.

A bible decided on by church councils?
Come on man. I don't like this pope, but seriously.

I don't think that you can evaluate a Pope in our current political terms of liberal vs conservative.

and is a globalist
As I stated earlier, I would hope that he does have a holistic view of mankind since that is focus of his office. The "Catholic" in Catholic Church should be a clue to globalist nature (at some level) of the Church.
