The unborn and all children-- are incapable of taking care of/defending themselves.
Adults are not. WTF should I take care of adults? What about they take care of themselves?
Conservative thought recap -- When something cannot take care of itself, we should help. When something can take care of itself --- then it SHOULD take care of itself.
Liberal thought recap -- When something is helpless. Kill it. When something is physically capable, support it so that it doesn't need to do anything at all.
