Art of the deal, baby! The plan all along was to collect tariff revenue and have an extremely complicated clawback. 7D intergalactic shuffleboard

you're really making some solid contributions to the board.

bullshite
If fixing the country requires building a coalition with those POS's, the country will noy be fixed, as simple as that.

Or, Trump could've just went through Congress, like how tariffs are supposed to be done.
This was said when he first did this. Why is this such a shocker?

Because they have handlers and are still benefiting.
The people stopped being represented by Congress long ago.

I would say the same snarky reply about your MAGA movement, but it's doing the talking for me already.

I'm disappointed in Kavanaugh.

This is his perhaps biggest weakness. For a guy that is an amazing deal maker, he basically never bothered to try and get legislation through his first term, and is kind of doing it again.
I'd love to see him go all out (like Obama) in moving Legislation.
But for all those upset or panicking about this: Do you trust Trump? Do you think he's just going to throw up his hands and say "Ok you win"? No. He's got a lot of faults but one thing he does is...do things.

The same Congress that fought against making DOGE cuts permanent and can't get the SAVE act passed, despite like 83% of people being for voter ID laws

It's not all tariffs it's the one towards Mexico and Canada and China.
Imagine siding with an adversarial communist regime (who literally steals American intellectual property and sales every day) over your own country
This also implies the president no longer has the ability to put financial/trade sanctions on foreign countries and instead that has to go through congress for approval. Was that always the case? Genuinely asking.

There are already laws he could use. He doesn't need Congress to do anything
Posted on 2/20/26 at 10:07 am to stout
The same Congress that's controlled by Republicans that should be able to get things Trump wants done, if he attempted to do so.
Sorry buddy, most normal people don't want a king like so many of y'all do.

Of course congress won't. Theyre bought and paid for.

It does.
That's how our system of government works. Again, Trump has a lot of positives. One of his negatives is that he didn't even bother to do shite legislatively his first time around.
The guy who was in charge of this for his admin in his first time said that out loud.
And he is kind of doing it again.
Its gonna be too late at the midterms. Start making some deals with Congress.
