True, Red Hot Chili Peppers lyrics, while in English are some of the dumbest, nonsensical you will ever hear, but they are a great band with great songs.

Is that something you know, or something you assume?

Oooh...a disruptive rock crowd? What is this, the PMAC?

Everbeen to or seen a concert? Yeah, people get thrown out all the time for being disruptive. You should get out more.

quote:

The article says one person shouted that out. Sorry if you interpreted that as "the crowd".

Who cares if it was one or 10? Seriously come up with better remarks.

Me?

Yes, and others as well.

quote:

Yes, stupid story. And I never said anything about hating Mexicans. I said he's a snowflake of a musician that demands a silent crowd...and also makes dumb non sequitur remarks.

bullshite. Why else would you care? Get the hell out of here with that bs. He may be a temperamental performer, I have no idea. He certainly ain't the only one. You really should experience more.

And no, it's not a non-sequitur. His remark follows logic. He's American. When you hear someone say they're American, which language do you think they speak? They asked him to sing in a different language that is not our primary, native language.

Keep on libbing out though.

I've heard of them. I don't know them. I certainly couldn't perform them in front of a large crowd.

Having exactly what to do with responding to a request to sing something in Spanish? Be honest - you know AT LEAST 2 songs in the Spanish language if not more.

Despacito is quite catchy. Don't know a single word of it.

I've never been to a concert where people were thrown out for anything other than fighting. I HAVE had "temperamental artists" storm off before though. David Alan Coe did it once when I saw him.

I don't care. I like fricking with the snowflakes in threads like these.

It's an absolute non sequitur. He was requested to sing something in Spanish. Not speak Spanish. SING something in Spanish. Beside the fact that it's near 100% that he knows at least one song in Spanish, you would think that such a precious artist might know more than the average American in this regard.

Either way, complete non sequitur - and LOL at the idiots in this thread doubling down on it.

Well, 10s of millions of non-Spanish speaking Americans know the words to it. Ditto the Macarena and La Bamba. Again, it's painfully obvious that being American is a TERRIBLE predictor of knowing or not knowing a song in Spanish.

Most folks don't know those lyrics.

They just mumble until they get to "HEEEEEY MACARENA!"

Just noticing that the link is from FoxNews...and with the following copy:

quote:

Singer Aaron Lewis irked his already-rowdy audience on Saturday when he implied that Spanish speakers are un-American

Someone oughta tell Foxnews to stop libbing so much.

"I'm American therefore I only speak English" is an illogical statement to you?

You're looking way too hard for things.

Touché still, I wouldn’t go to see an artist that sings songs in another language and then tell him to sing something in my language

I said it was a non sequitur...do you know what that even means? He was asked to sing something in Spanish...and he replied that he didn't speak Spanish.
