Absolutely, put him on a nasal cannula and be done with it or a face mask if necessary. If he is to the point of ARDS and needs a positive pressure airway Vent him
Bc that is the only way he is coming back from this anyway.

Care to disclose your background in healthcare?

Might as well put a gun to my guys head and pull the trigger. He has the virus, otherwise ok, but you are going to deny him the therapy that keeps him from having a heart attack or stroke?

This might be the dumbest thing I've read all day, and that is saying something. He's got ARDS, but he's not already on a vent?

The Philips Trilogy 202 machine is capable of non-invasive & invasive ventilation. Just need O2 & settings.

That’s saying something considering you’ve already read about 19-40” positive pressure on lungs.
