When you get sick, do you go to the doctor, or consult your neighbor who's a plumber?
Well for starters I don't really get sick because I don't listen to people who think you need to wash your hands every 5 minutes and such. I get a cold about once a decade because I don't foolishly compromise my immune system.
I look at people who are out there wiping down shopping carts and shite and just kind of shake my head as I grab one without giving a remote frick.
But I research things myself. That's why I never got the covid shot.
Funny enough, my last doctor dropped me as a patient because she tried the "I'm a doctor" when I refused to take a statin for numbers that would have been considered normal 30 years ago. I told her straight up I didn't give a frick, it was my decision and she just couldn't handle that.
If you are an expert in something, then you should have an advantage without having to pull an appeal to authority fallacy. You should be more than capable of tearing apart anyone's argument.
