The top earners pay most of the taxes, and there are a lot of very wealthy Democrats. Plus, some people vote R and D. It's difficult to calculate, but I don't think republicans obviously pay more total taxes.

Well, the two groups with the highest unemployment rate, blacks and Hispanics, both vote overwhelmingly democratic. Those groups aren't paying a huge amount of taxes.
