Even the CDC has said that most people that get it won't even know they have it and will get better on their own.
and that would be manageable if we were talking about a few thousand, or even a few hundred thousand, but at the rate this is currently spreading, we arent. If were talking tens of millions, this spreads as fast as anything weve seen, maybe ever. Thats the reality.

So Iike, your local news anchor and weather guy too, or just the ones you don’t like in MSNBC and CNN?

Seems like a real thought out plan.

Yeah, seems a little extreme. It would be entertaining to see some dudes in black suits waltz on to the set and cuff Joe Cuckborough, Rachel Sadcow, Brian Williams, Lawrence O'Donnell, Anderson Cooper and a few other Prog/Dim propagandist/liars.

Nobody thinks a death rate primarily among already-ill elderly in a confined space is going to hold.

It's unbelievable how difficult it is to find people willing to take this seriously but not overstate the risk. The President is tweeting stupid shite per usual instead of leading, and the press and the left is all too happy to pretend that a nursing home is a good ratio to extrapolate.

- Straight from Moscow Center.

I am amused that whenever we have a big snowstorm or even an actual blizzard in the New York area, the newscasts (local and national) go berzerk over it, but bigger snowstorms upstate or in the midwest hardly rate a mention nationally.

I suspect the explanation is the ease of covering a local story as national is the biggest explanation. Also that New York City and environs don't deal as well with snow as Buffalo and Milwaukee.

But there really is no evil intent. They just want eyeballs on their shows. If you make that assumption about them, you're close to understanding their true motivations.

The COVID-19 story is making up for the three or four big snowstorms we haven't had over the last three years. Something for them to cover.

The administration would do well to tell the simple truth rather than trying to spin the story. At present we simply do not have enough tests to mitigate the spread of the infection. That should be priority one.

Millions of tests were promised for last Friday. That didn't happen.

The president said on February 27 there were only 15 USA cases and that number would decline to zero soon. Why did he say that? It ruins his credibility.

From this point forward if the administration tells the simple truth and then works toward mitigation (containment is no longer possible) things will start to go better. A constant stream of lies will only make things worse.

Are people going to get sick? Yes
Are people going to die? Yes

Is there reason for people to be going crazy hording toilet paper and water? No

I might get sick or I might not, there is only so many things I can do to prevent it but I'm not going full on load up the bunker crazy at this moment.

I think it's being over blown.

Just by your numbers H1N1 had a fatality rate of 0.02 percent, while CV19 is at 4 percent.

We had the ability to better test for H1N1 which means more cases were identified which drives down the mortality rate. The actual rate for Covid is much lower.

H1N1 also attacked and killed an elevated number of young people which is different than the flu which should have caused more alarm than Covid which very much like the flu disproportionately impacts the elderly.

In other words H1N1 killed young people and should have caused a higher level of concern than Covid which kills just like the regular flu does. Why didn’t we see this level of panic and concern? Because a Democrat was President and the media didn’t run a 24/7 panic scam.

This message board is technically media. If things get really bad are we going to go to jail for downplaying the threat?

As a reminder, 3/4 of these are from a single, poorly run nursing home in Washington State.

That a single facility is allowed to skew the numbers for a nation of 1/3 of a billion people and disrupt our economy in such a way is ludicrous in the information age.

Critical thinking is not taught in our schools because folks with critical thinking skills are much harder to lead around like sheep.

Can you guarantee there will be no more?

How many will there be?

I can almost assure you that many thousands of Americans will contract the disease (just like the seasonal flu).

And, perhaps hundreds will die (virtually all of those will be in the compromised immune system category, primarily the elderly with serious underlying conditions).

And spending money won't seriously chip into either of those numbers.

Sure, we can and should fight the spread with reasonable precautions, focus treatment efforts where necessary and continue to develop antivirals and vaccines to fight it.

But panicking about it does no good. Buying toilet paper and bottled water does no good. Selling all your stocks and mutual funds after a huge drop does no good.

How much are you getting paid to spread fear and panic through misleading information and stats? or do you simply enjoy it?
