hate these arguments. When was the last time tobacco killed 17 people who weren't using it?
Every single fricking year. When second hand smoke kills roughly 45k people who don't smoke.
Edit: I see you have gotten completely arse raped over this asinine comment.

nah. folks can just walk away from smokers, or have them put out their cigarettes. One I can control, one I can't. Pretty simple

Second hand smoke kills thousands every year. Those people are not using it.
Well....

Wrong again.
Much of current secondhand smoke risk is with children from their shitty parents. Which also leads to them being smokers themselves.

Second hand smoke kills 3-4x as many as guns related homicides each year. You telling me that all these folks just wanted to die due to second hand smoke?
Do you think before posting or just try to go for the "gotcha?"

Second hand smoke disproportionatly affects poor and minority workers who work in bars and casinos. Also disproportionatly affects poor and minorities because they are more likely to hang around smokers.
Why do you hate poor and minorities DEG?

Strange argument, of course these things kill more people than guns.
But, if you look at the top three things on the list for instance, not designed to kill. They are are also heavily regulated. You need a license and insurance to drive a car, it also needs to be registered, all punishable by law if found to be out of compliance. Car manufacturers were required by the government to provide better safety features like seat belts to cut down on fatalities. If there is a known defect they are required to do a recall. Individuals can sue car manufacturers if they want to. Government funds can be used to study car safety with the goal of making them safer. All reasonable things in most people's minds.
So if something that is designed to provide transportation can be regulated the way it is, why is it the end of the world if we regulate something that is designed to kill so less people die?

Autos ARE heavily regulated. Drinking and Driving is highly illegal.
Yet for some strange reason there are still a whole bunch of crappy (and good) drivers causing strange accidents that kill a whole bunch of people.
Terrorists have also discovered they can use this highly controlled tool to kill mass amounts of people with ease.
Criminals still choose to drive drunk and kill people.
Despite all the ‘control’ and regulation government has put on vehicle usage they STILL kill more people then guns. Maybe it’s not really control and regulation that we’re talking about here.

Pretty simple really. Driving is a privilege. Owning a gun is a right.
And why have we not placed speed limits on cars? Speeding kills far more people every year than an AR15. Nobody NEEDS to go 80 mph. Why can't we have common sense car regulations to prevent traffic fatalities caused by speeding?

You are absolutely correct but does that mean that it cannot be regulated in any way? As far as I can tell, the 2nd amendment is the only thing in the constitution that gives you the right to own an "inanimate object", everything else are ideals.
The Right to Vote seems pretty clear but conservatives have been trying to curtail that for years by placing regulations in the way. There are rules and regulations that apply to everything.
and dude - there are speed limits

Clearly Speed limits are working

These are people who choose to spend a large amount of time around smokers. Spouses, family members, jobs. Not random people at a school.
