Why not address the real problem with the problem makers rather than toss all Churches into the same mold?

I did respond. You just didn't like it.
You're still under the impression that I think churches are the only 501(c)(3) that should pay property tax, or that I give a single frick about what "the courts" would have to say about it. Start there.

AND taxing them like all the rest of us
Why would you tax them "like the rest of us"? The dont WORK like the rest of us. The taxes on their money has already been paid by you. You DONATE your already taxed money to them
That calls for taxing ALL charitable organizations. You do that, and they collapse. No more food banks. No more back to school suppliers. No more wounded vets programs. No more make a wish groups. The amount of money that many take it likely get taxed at the highest brackets.
Remember when the IRS was denying charitable group designation to conservative groups. Yeah, that would also happen to churches
quote:
In a legal settlement that still awaits a federal judge's approval, the IRS "expresses its sincere apology" for mistreating a conservative organization called Linchpins of Liberty — along with 40 other conservative groups — in their applications for tax-exempt status.
And in a second case, NorCal Tea Party Patriots and 427 other groups suing the IRS also reached a "substantial financial settlement" with the government.

Long over due and, while we're at it, any charity with more than 10% overhead looses their status.

Don't tax the churches, bro. That'll hurt the other scammers, too, bro.
They should all be paying property tax, and i don't give a frick about what charitable shite they hide behind to get around it.

Why would anyone give money to Walmart?
I usually buy stuff when I go there.

Churches aren’t exempt from sales taxes, you stupid shite. They pay them just like you do.

No, authoritarian democrat pussy way of thinking. Yes this sucks but the alternative is far worse. Throwing the baby out with the bath water. This is the same retarded logic that people will use against guns. One person does something bad with a gun so ban guns. Just like with guns, religion is a fundamental human right and should have no government interference.

So two things.
1. Little churches get no govt money and barely squeak by. The left would love if you crushed them.
2. Stop giving govt money to these dead mainline churches and woke catholic orgs. Stop giving money to any church.
This is it right here.
Leftists would cream themselves if the government would crush those small country churches with taxes.
NO, we dod not need to end the tax exemption for churches.
We need to pull mega-churches off the 'gubmint' tit.

A couple of things.
1. As has already been correctly pointed out, churches already pay taxes. They pay sales taxes like everyone else does. Further, the church is a collective group of individuals who have already had their incomes taxed (including the pastor and staff) and have paid income taxes and have pooled the rest of their money together to accomplish collective goals.
2. Eliminating the 501(c)3 protection and taxing the profit of churches would do…. you ready for it?…. Not a goddamn thing. Taxes are levied on profit. Every church can account for every single penny it brings as a business expense. You know how much they’d pay in taxes every year? Not a damn penny.
The ONLY thing the 501(c)3 designation does is allow people who give to the charity a tax deduction based on what they give. For the vast majority of people this matters not the least bit. You’d only be punishing people who give to churches and who have already been taxed. Of course, we all know damn well that’s really your goal- to punish people who are religious because they don’t share your ignorant views.
3. Levying a tax on the income of churches would be blatantly unconstitutional.
4. And, last. None of this matters- not one sky-screaming post in this thread- because churches are never going to be “taxed” in your lifetime. You’ll just have to die a miserable, hate-filled, ignorant, little bigot whining and crying like a bitch on the internet about Christians and churches having NEVER seen churches taxed on the income they bring in.
Now, shut the frick up.

Once churches are given special privileges from the government, the government uses that to control them. A church should not let any entity get influence over them, once they do it’s no longer a church, it’s just some worldly social institution. This is a major reason for the collapse of Christianity in the west.
