This is why I said Bondi was a NOGO, but she's in there now so we have to hope she's not onboard with such nonsense. Same with Trump, although his record on this is pretty bad.
Take the guns first, due process second.

This was a good bad kinda thing. In his previous presidency, 45 had verbally supported red flag laws. Which set many of us off.
Bondi has been a supporter of red flag laws, which is why many of us were against her as a choice.

To know that they've backed off, away from this, is a good thing.

To me, it should be like my view on prison and felons. If you’re a felon but paid your debt to society and completed your sentence you should have rights restored. If you’re a danger to yourself or others you should stay in a mental institution. Once you’re released that means you’re ok, you should have all rights restored. No reason to take guns, just commit the individual until said person is mentally ok. Leave the guns in the persons house

It looks to me like you know exactly how to handle the situation.
