Pedro has been making a good point, albeit in his insane way, that the influencers gassed up this issue for years. Now that the truth may not be quite as horrible as people thought (Epstein probably procured and may have pimped out some teens, but didn't run an international ring raping kids), the administration is having a hard time reeling in those narratives. The problem is that the number 1 and 2 guys at the FBI fanned these flames. They tried to tie this off in the past week with their memo. Backlash ensued, and they don't really know what to do other than scapegoat Bondi.
