he has supported guns even in his past. look it up. he was just for some restrictions.
the bump stock argument is laughable. it is an attachment just like a suppressor which is listed under the NFA! if you are crying over bump stocks you should be crying over the fact suppressors have to be registered, approved, and taxed through ATF.
let me know when trump actually bans a gun. then i will bitch with you.

On the contrary, I think he values and understands it very much like other Republicans do, and that's a problem. Republicans don't respect the 2A the way they do other rights in the BoR, and I think much of it has to do with the corrupt NRA. Republicans don't have to worry about preserving, protecting, and defending the Constitution according to their oath, they just have to not piss off the NRA to where they give a bad grade.

So who is this 2020 candidate you plan to vote for who has the balls and power to protect 2A better than Trump? If anyone else is elected from either side you will see 2A 1A and every other freedom that the constitution has granted Americans erased before their first term is over.
The deep state never thought she would lose and if they ever hold the executive branch again they will make sure that a patriot is never elected again.

This is an overused and too simplistic argument.
The real reason that George HW Bush lost to Bill Clinton is because 2A supporters who were angry with him over his position on the 2A either stayed home or voted for Perot.
And whether you think the Bump Stock is an irrelevant toy or not, the fact is that by executive fiat, President Trump got it banned.
When Obama was President, even when the Dems controlled both chambers of Congress, he talked a lot, but was unable to get any meaningful changes that weakened our gun rights. in fact, during the Obama tenure our laws, especially at the state level trended toward more gun rights (with some notable exceptions like Connecticut following Newtown).
Sometimes, for this issue, it's better to be in the opposition party. If a Dem was in power trying to ban the bumpstock or put in red flag laws or put forth universal background checks, everybody on the right would be fighting them tooth and nail. As it is, there are a bunch of people on the right either making excuses for President Trump or worse yet trying to shame people who are pointing out this blind spot/ weakness.
"Well then, go vote for Warren or Bernie!" is not a constructive reply. Instead we need to be pushing back. Trump is a populist who loves his base. His base needs to hear how unpopular this is.

The Trump record on the 2nd amendment right now would be right in line with a moderate democrat instead of a constitutional conservative.

Correct.
Blind sycophancy is how George W. Bush was allowed to turn into an absolutely shitty President that was so bad it set conservatives back years. We enabled Bush to stab conservatives in the back time and time again.
We cannot make the same mistake with Donald Trump on such a sensitive issue like gun rights.
I hate water carriers who think Trump can do nothing wrong.
