1. Al Udeid Air Base (hosts 83 Expeditionary Air Group, RAF operational HQ in Middle East) Qatar 2. Al Minhad Air Base (permanent RAF facilities) United Arab Emirates 3. Al Musannah Air Base (RAF access for operations) Oman 4. RAF Akrotiri (Permanent Joint Operating Base) Cyprus
Of these only Cyprus would require UK authorization I believe.

We likely aren’t flying out of an Arab or Gulf country to do this anyway.

I think Trump would’ve started bombing Iran during the height of the protests had it not been for ME countries not allowing use of their bases. So we had to wait on the carrier to get there and by this point I think we’ve convinced the Arabs to let us use their bases and will probably wait for the Bush carrier group to get on station before starting hostilities.

The Arabs want us to deal with the Persians.
They simply can't have a nuke armed Iran holding the area hostage.
It's why they allowed Israel over flight the last time.

I don’t see us launching a massive strike out of Qatar given their relationship with Iran and role as a mediator in the region.
Could be wrong though.

Known as a “don’t even sortie your aircraft” force. I’d think the actual strike will come from the heavies out of CONUS or elsewhere, and the CSG’s.

Those aircraft in Qatar, Bahrain, Jordan, and UAE will be used.

Well that’s why we didn’t strike weeks ago. I’m pretty sure the Israelis wanted us to wait too. My thinking is that they all wanted us to get more air and missile defense assets into place before we started bombing. That’s why so much of the heavy lift going into the ME has been carrying air defense assets and the Bush strike group will position itself off the coast of Israel to help defend against missile attacks.

You don't send over a hundred tankers down stream to watch CNN.
You don't flow that many AWACS aircraft into the theater unless you intend on 24hr operations.

Udied will most likely host ISR and tanker assets. Most of the strike aircraft will launch out of Jordan and Saudi Arabia and from the aircraft carriers.

Yes, I’m not sure what we’re arguing here.

Why would they help? We don’t want to be part of NATO.
Why is everyone yelling at the sky?

Wasn’t me. I doubted (and doubt) that we’ll launch strikes out of them, but I could be wrong. Thinking more support roles, but if this ends up some protracted disaster of continuing operations, then yea I imagine we’ll use everything.
My initial read on not using their bases was on the premise that it would be a one off. If it’s not, all bets off.

I suggested that’s we didn’t attack weeks ago after Trump’s initial threats. Most likely because they wanted us to send more air defense batteries to the region before beginning the strikes. I think Israel also wanted us to wait. In about a week everything will be in place for an extended air campaign with support and clearance from all parties to use their bases.

It definitely won’t be a one off. The goal is regime change.

Which begs the question of WTF the plan is.
If we’re going all in on sustained bombing and missile operations, what is that supposed to accomplish without some sort of stabilizing force on the ground?
With this many assets, I doubt playing whackamole at Natanz is the goal.
