Correct. Its hemisphereism.

The EU is often cited as an example of "globalism" so the Monroe Doctrine being limited to a hemisphere doesn't remove it from the general concept

I'm not sure what the US owns, we certainly have our own internal corruption issues.

We have such systemic rot, corruption and filth entrenched in the federal government and its related agencies.....the US citizenry had better get control of this mess or this nation will eventually crumble from within.

I remember when you people were "America First."

But that was days ago.

So they were buttering up a Venezuelan dictator for no geopolitical reason at all, IYO?

Nothing to gain by having an ally so close to the US?

I didn't say that.

Russia has done all sorts of thing to expand its influence (See: Ukraine invasion of 2022) but it's typically spun as them fighting globalism.

The problem is the concept of "globalism". The Iran situation is testing it, too

I see what you are getting at. There's a huge difference in occupying a country to 'stop globalism' vs taking out a dictator complicit in many humanitarian violations. We accomplished it in three hours and left, and the people are better off for it, which was a welcome side benefit to stopping the interest of our enemies.

No matter how you spin it, this was not nearly the same.

Just more evidence on how we need to remain active in world affairs. We are the worlds leader. We control stuff.

Trust me, there WILL ALWAYS BE a "world leader". WE DO NOT want China or Iran or Russia or someone else to be it.

America First does NOT mean "America all alone" or "America only".

Yeah. We're great at starting wars, arming revolutions, overthrowing governments and all that shite.

Meanwhile, we gave away our industry to our biggest enemy and selling out our citizens in every way in the name of stock prices.

The only thing we own is one big reality check when the bubble finally pops.

Ouch.
