Everyone wants cops to tackle and subdue guys but then they bitch about how they do that. It’s not professional wrestling where you twist his arm and he just falls down screaming

Lol I was going to include that when I first asked. This idea that violent or threatening criminals need to be given all these safety measures while the cops are out there winging it shows more of the same corrupt influences surrounding the issue. Next step we’ll be handing the criminals body armor during the initial stop. “You’re under arrest, put on this body armor and comply”

You are so correct, the only consideration a suspect should be given by the police is yelling “stop or I’ll shoot”, if the suspect continues doing whatever he is doing after the warning whatever happens is their own fault.

Do not put your hands where the cops cannot see them when you being armed is an open issue.

Stupid keyboard warriors. In real life, it’s not that easy to manhandle a guy that is fighting like he’s fighting for his life. Even when your side has the numbers, a strong dude is gonna be tough to subdue without using some kinda chokehold. Look it up, there’s plenty of evidence if you care.

I think you miss the point. Small techniques can make a huge difference. They can allow the time to get on cuffs, or allow more bodies to restrain someone.

Watch the Rayshard Brooks scuffle in particular. Both cops had ample chance to block Brook's hips which would have limited his movement and prevented or at least slowed his escape. Neither knew to do that, and that situation ended in a shooting.

Simple principles of leverage and redirection can make everyone safer, and cops need the knowledge exactly because they can't manhandle everyone.
