Well that's interesting. I think about two-thirds of dems would go with that position.
Sheer fantasy. I mean, there's literally no evidence that this would be the case and mountains of evidence that it isn't.

Try me. What's your deal? It's strange because compromise is so foreign a concept these days.

Perhaps. But cross issue compromise is silly.

No. I'm not going to negotiate guns with abortion. That's silly. But hell, even if I would. You couldn't get 1/3 of Democrats to agree to any restrictions on abortion if you waterboarded them.

And, you couldn't get 1/3 to agree to a compromise gun law that would be the LAST gun law they could ever pass.

Say you get that.

What's your give?

I keep telling you. It's simple.

My demand is that the left grant me the same individual freedom it has given itself.

Is it? I mean they do cross-issue compromise, effectively, with every budget bill, right?

Me.

Say you get a constitutional amendment permitting exclusively Christian prayer in school.

What would you give for that?

(I understand you want "the same freedoms that the left has granted itself." You've said it several times. I'm looking at specifics just to think about it.)

Regardless.

I have my ask. My ask is simple.

Is the left okay with it when a female business owner prioritizes hiring only females 2 top management roles?

How about when a black owner does it with blacks?

Is the left okay with it if a gay person doesn't want to do business with Ann Coulter?

Is the left okay with it if a Jew doesn't want to do business with David Duke?

On an even simpler note is the left okay with it if a black person looking for a roommate seeks out other black people to be his roommate?

I could go on for probably hundreds of these and I suspect the answer and every single case is yes

And I agree.

My ask is that the left fricking return the favor.

You couldn't get a majority of Republicans on board with that. Note even close. So, I don't know what circles you run in but that's a "give" that no one gives a frick about short of a few nuts.

What specifics are required?

I want individual freedom. THAT is my specific. It's not complicated. If I'm not killing you, stealing your shite or otherwise, I want to be free. And, since you guys have already declared that you get that one, sounds even to me.

I mean, why exactly should I have to "give" something to gain the shite you've already given yourselves?

That ain't compromise.

Ok. Misread you on that one. I thought that was one of your issues.

To repeat. Atheist here. So, yeah.

But, 90% of the Christians I know wouldn't support mandated school prayer of a specific sort. So, it's an issue without a constituency.

I will accept that expense to exercise my constitutional right. In return, I would like to re-establish poll taxes and a requirement to be a property owner to vote.

I know.

I look at it this way. I'm not willing to compromise until I can at least gain the ground they've already handed themselves.

I see no reason to GIVE MORE in order to gain equal access to individual freedom.

Republicans shouldn’t have to give up anything for a wall and better restrictions on immigration. A lot of these liberals live in gated communities with restrictions to access . They know it works but they want more voters .

Abortion should be a women’s choice unless the majority vote for one side . They register at 18 if they are pro life or pro abortion. Anyone who is pro abortion will not be charged with murder if they kill their unborn baby and neither will anyone else who kills her unborn baby . If you feel like a unborn baby is not alive then you should feel that way no matter who kills the baby .

I'd just like to point out that this thread actually is typical of liberal thinking.

A liberal wants to be able to take your candy.........then ask you what you're willing to give up to get SOME of your candy back and they call that "compromise".
