Don't make assumptions.

To use your analogy, some on the left perceive that they have been getting "fricked with a baseball bat" for decades. So what you see as an intrusion on your rights, they see as making things fair. And they would argue -- just as passionately as you do -- that it's "unassailable fact."

I doubt they'll see your side any more than you will see theirs. So that is pretty much that.

Then they have a horrible case of head in sand syndrome in terms of personal freedom.

The left's definition of "fair" is an abomination.

I'll be blunt. My position is morally superior because I am 100% in favor of every leftist alive being able to act in accordance with their beliefs in exactly the manner I would wish for myself.

The left grants no such reciprocal feeling.

To try and equate what they're doing to my position is twisted beyond the pale.

Yes.

If I'm willing to give you exactly what I would give myself..........but you are UNWILLING to give me what you've given yourself...........my position is superior.

To argue otherwise is sophistry.

Long as you are sure about that.

Can you refute the concept?

I'm totally fine with a black manager hiring an inferior black candidate over me if that's his choice.

Are you fine with a white manager doing the reverse?

If not. /thread

I'm fine with a gay musician refusing to perform at a marriage ceremony involving religious fundamentalists.

Are you fine with me(side musician) saying no to performing gay weddings?

If not. /thread

I'm fine with the fact that Asians and women kick arse academically and as such, get admitted at a higher rate than white boys.

Are you fine with the fact that white boys perform vastly superior to blacks should result in a commensurate uneven admission rate?

If not. /thread. (Oh, and before you play the "but disadvantages" card)...........there was a time when boys outperformed girls. And, when that was the case, the left went into 5 alarm fire mode. NOW with the numbers almost exactly the same in reverse? Left is hunky dory. No problem to address. Hmmmmmmmmm

This illustrates why a grand bargain can't be reached with the left.

To use my candy example.

You guys stole half the candy for yourselves.

Now, your position is THAT is the status quo and you want the rest of the candy. So, you ask how much we are willing to give up so you don't take it all!

You know. "Compromise".

I wonder what brilliant ideas have arisen in this thread to bargain with the party who has schumer and pelosi as leaders.

It would appear that I've established that a "bargain" here is "I can get the same freedoms the left has given itself if there is something ELSE I'm willing to give up!"

Nah. You’ve established that you hold a narrow point of view immune to change. And, ironically, that you approach things in a way similar to those you excoriate.

I'll give you another example of how no principle the left articulates is one lane actually hold.

Liberals are only too happy to say that the fact they are taking your money to find say something like healthcare that this means they can also dictate to businesses what they are allowed to sell or text the frick out of things because they have the potential to affect health

Imply to these very same liberals that there should be strings attached when taking people's money and handed away for social welfare and you'll be lucky if they don't draw a picture of you with a swastika on your chest

given that you've made literally zero attempt to counter the point I will simply interpret the above as a white flag

My willingness to give you exactly the freedoms I would like to have myself is similar to the fact you aren't willing to return the favor?

Your Dictionary needs to fix the word similar

I will add that it isn't an accident that you have dutifully avoided answering the specific questions that I asked you if you supported.

That's because you do. So you literally support everything I've asked for. Just not for me

Nah. But you hear someone scream the same thing fifty times, your pretty sure they’ll do the same thing the 51st.

You see it how you want, which you will anyway.

I’m enjoying your candy.
