The only realistic way Ukraine “wins” is by being a porcupine. Basically do enough damage to make Russia think it’s not worth it.
They can do this even without our weapons.
With that said, what we are doing has nothing to do with “we want to save money” because we’ve gone as far as stopping intelligence sharing with Ukraine (even though we are still collecting intelligence) in addition to stopping American companies such as Maxar providing intelligence data that Ukraine is actually paying for.
I.E. Our current policy is for Ukraine to lose, rather than for us to “stop being taken advantage of”.

Only semi plausible reason would be to keep it a snale pace on advance while peace talks are ongoing. So occupied land doesn’t change much while talks are ongoing
In my opinion the only real end game is to break Russia financially. To supply Ukraine long enough, that Nato and US sanction Russia until they are broken and give up.
But here's the kicker, Russia signs a treaty and then what? We still have a border dispute...
1. Ukraine will run out of soldiers before Russia is broken economically.
2. What border dispute? Peace treaties set the new border.
