IMHO the biggest thing that happened today was the leader of the Taliban sat in the presidential office that took him 10 days to capture and issued a deadline to the United States to get our people out. Let that sink in. He gave us an ultimatum, and this administration is scrambling to comply.

The Taliban are standing down because it is even more humiliating to the US to do it this way.
Biden and co aren’t leveraging shite and have absolutely nothing to leverage.
The Taliban knows they can execute the stranded Americans at their leisure.
The Taliban also knows if they US does anything about it WWIII will start in earnest with China and likely Russia supporting the Taliban.
We’ve fallen so far, the Taliban doesn’t even think we are worth killing right now.
