Probably because some Americans remember when this country fought fascists. Republicans were slow to come around then, too, but at least they didn't run too many of them for office.

He didn’t have a concise message that spoke to local issues. Just saying “I’m with Trump” is not a platform. He actually had an awesome education platform, but refused to talk about it in ads. It was utterly maddening. His campaign was even more aloof and tonedeqf than Vitter’s and I didn’t even think that was possible.

What was Abraham's platform? Or Edwards' for that matter? We know Rispone wanted a constitutional convention and lower taxes and insurance (no specifics on how to accomplish it). The other two didn't even offer that much.

JBE ran on saving medicaid and creating surpluses. He then used standard democrat scare tactics to turn out the black vote.
If Rispone runs on ANYTHING more than “I love Trump and hate illegal immigration”, he likely wins. If he endorses legal weed, he wins. If he endorses sports gambling, he wins. If he says anything about his education plans or how his community college initiatives were showing huge positive results, he wins.
Instead, Rispone tried to play it safe and went home. Only democrats have that luxury. Republicans have to fight, claw, scrap for every vote, every minute, of every day. If you’re not on offense, you’re dead. Eddie went on offense once in the first 3-man debate and never did it again.
