I mean this step isn’t even necessary. They never tried to claim Indian heritage, the onus isn’t on them.

I do think that this would be a powerful campaign message for the Left:
“Listen, I found out that .4% of my ancestors were Native Americans. Does that make me Native American though? No. I’m not going to stomp on the corpses of millions to say so. It would be as ridiculous if Trump claims he’s black and understands the plights of the black community if he discovered he’s .09% black. Elizabeth Warren exploited minorities for her own benefit, but I’m above that. She will throw anyone under the bus, but I will fight for the people regardless of race.”
Her Presidential ambitions are dead if someone says that.

I think they’re already dead. Even among the brain dead lefties, they recognize what she did was fricked up since it goes against their entire religious dogma that is identity politics. But even so, the Indians came out and said that using genetic tests to establish ancestry is insulting, so that still wouldn’t be a good move.
They don’t need to prove they are .4% Cherokee to drop that line.
But more importantly, the real question is whether the democratic primary will be vicious enough to even get to that point or if it will be a charade to coronate a pre selected candidate as was the case in 2016. Democrats tend to move in lockstep a lot more than the Republicans.
