If you got Sahin, he'd immediately be your second best CM in Rodgers system IMO.

Dandy what do you think of Munian and what would you consider his best position? I have watch him about 10 or so times and I'm impressed. For someone so young he can just take over a game. Future Barca player I'm sure.

Behind Leiva or Gerrard?

He would be behind both, but Gerrard will play as a supporting striker this season.

La Juve had better up the ante, seems both Athletic and Llorente are offended by their offer.

Word is that Citeh is to enter in the fray (for Llorente).

He has stated he prefers the EPL to Serie A.

Sahin is a better player than Lucas Leiva. I don't think they necessarily play the same role though.

He's a foul mouthed, petulant Messi in the making.

I like him alot, but he's got to (where's that Saban gif when you need it).

His best position is false nine or attacking mid from the left side (mirror image of Messi, who does it from the right side). He can also play media punta and a true left wing.

Sahin would never make it into the lineup over Lucas at this point. Lucas is a pure ball winner and his presence is absolutely necessary (and virtually priceless at this point).

Sahin's main competitor will be Joe Allen for a starting role (which he won't get).

If Sahin joins Pool he will be in direct competition with the newly signed Allen. They both play the same position so while it adds depth, which makes sense, if you are Sahin why would join Pool to fight for playing time with a guy they just spent 15 mill on. I'm surprised some other teams haven't been involved in trying to recruit Sahin.

Sahin fits Rodgers' scheme better than Gerrard IMO. Sahin > Allen, but you guys did drop a pretty penny on Allen. I've become a fan of Lucas. He should bounce back from his injury well.

Sahin would still get 30+ appearances on the season. The most important thing for Liverpool at this point is finding quality depth just to make up for the players the club has lost so far this summer.

I agree. Gerrard isn't the best fit for Rodgers' system, but if he continues to play as a supporting striker then he will be fine. If at any point he drops back to CM, we are fricked.

Tough to say really. Allen is the perfect fit for Rodgers and he plays the most important role. Plus he has experience in England and shares a past with Rodgers which really cannot be understated. Like I said, Sahin would be excellent depth at this point, but he will still see at least 30 matches.

He undoubtedly isn't as technically gifted as Sahin, nor is his passing range nearly as good, but he anchors the midfield and disrupts play at a rate that will never see him out of the XI.

Lucas is the best defensive mid in the EPL.

A glossary for those columns would be helpful

It is because Lucas knows what his job is and does it so effectively. He intercepts, takles, breaks up play, and keeps the ball moving with simple accurate passes to the skill players in front of him.

Oops:

The things to notice is that he is first or second in 7/8 of the categories. His passing accuracy was 86% and he lost possession once every 261 minutes, FWIW.

Yah, Lucas Leiva is an absolute beast. One of the most underrated players in the EPL.
