The problem is that they can just accept a 40mm bid from Bayern Munich to where the extra 6 isn't tacked on. By forcing Javi to pay the clause, they're adding extra money and crippling the transfer.

Javi isn't worth a 40mm transfer, they're getting double what they should get for him. Plus, he wants to leave. I just don't see how they're conducting business rationally.

Javi may end up being worth the 40 but he may never reach that spot and they make a huge deal.

They're holding a player hostage who wants to leave when they're getting twice his market value.

His market value is what another club is willing to pay. Therefore, bayern offers €40 million and his market value is now €40 million.

Don't understand why Bilbao wouldn't just take the 40 from bayern. Trying to appease the fans and make it look like they were forced to sell him against their will?

I'm not Urrutia, you don't have to convince me.

However, when you see dumbass moves like the Liverpool one for Carroll, someone like Urrutia certainly isn't going to drop his pants when dealing with a much more valuable commodity.

Are you saying that for Javi to be transferred it has to be through the buyout clause? Atheltic Bilbao cannot accept a transfer bid at all?

I have not seen his contract, but it does sound so.

I don't think he (Urrutia) can make that decision (it is probably a board decision).

Reports are the Sahin trained with Arsenal today and also had a photo shoot for the club. The deal should be announced pretty soon.

figured this.

Is that a good fee (£6M) for him? I know Laudrup knows what he's doing, but what do you think about the fee paid?

I know Arsenal had shown some interest in him a bit back. I would say its a good deal for the Swans.

Seems about right for the 23 year old. Called the "Korean Steven Gerrard". We shall see. I'm probably not the best for transfer analysis though.

I thought the Sahin deal was done?

Jovetic to man city could get interesting, especially if the Kun's injury is long term.
