It's about more than just proving a point though. We want stability at GK, just like RM does. We would prefer to bring in someone to replace De Gea who will be our long-term first choice. There aren't clear options out there at the moment. So, why should we sell for less than he's worth? Keeping DDG will give us another year to line up a replacement. DDG may prefer to go to RM, but he still has affection for United. He is a professional and would act like one until he can leave next summer. He has a lot of reasons to retain his focus and play well. We kept Ronaldo for a year longer than he wanted to stay. He had an exceptional season, and then he got his move.
We won't allow RM to hold us hostage on a low-ball valuation just because DDG may want to go. It doesn't make sense for us on a whole lot of levels - unless the price is right.

Right....still different cause he still went for just a little more than free after his year.

This goes both way to the market and the seller.

I made the Ronaldo comparison to show that DDG could stay and have a good season for us, even if he may want a move now. Not sure how Ronaldo being sold as opposed to leaving on a free affects the comparison at all.

I feel sorry for Halilovic if he really does get loaned to Hamburg.

Either Fabio Borini or Nikola Kalinic look to be Mario Gomez's replacement with Fiorentina.
Wikipedia actually has Kalinic as a Viola player, but I haven't seen anything official.

Crystal Palace striker Dwight Gayle faces becoming a first-team outcast if he does not accept a move to Bristol City.
The Eagles accepted a remarkable bid from the Championship club worth up to £8million on Monday.
But the forward is reluctant to move to Ashton Gate and has expressed his views to the Palace hierarchy.

Oriol Romeu linked to Southampton on a permanent move. Haven't seen a fee disclosed.

City finally announced that Dzeko to Roma is official, but it's not a straight transfer.
"Edin Dzeko has joined Roma on a season-long deal with a view to a permanent transfer if certain conditions are met," is what the direct quote from City's website says.

Manu has listed DeGea on the CL roster. Bastards.

I don't understand why Real doesn't just pay the extra 4 or 5 mil or whatever. That is like me refusing to eat because I didn't want to spend $6 at Chick Fil A.

Neither side wants to look dumb and appear to be the "loser". It's starting to get annoying. Nobody wants to be the Man City and just pay whatever it takes.

I 99% agree with this....the only downside here would be the fact that to all the ManU boys on here it would be a victory....I'd hate to give that up TBH.

Yea I saw that....I think we are going to have to be reserved to seeing Navas in the league and Casilla in the CL this year basically....or some form of that rotation.
