again, not answering the question.

the only mention of money in the article is about liverpool's salary cap for players under 17 and how it was done to "normalize" life for them. they made that decision as a club, just like city has made the decision to pay the wages it pays. is city breaking any rules by doing this?

the rest of the article is about the pressure these kids are under. this is stuff that kids at every academy face.

instead of just telling me there is a problem with paying high wages to a 16 year old, can you please explain to me why you hold this position? i'm dense.

Like the article says it removes these kids from the reality of life after the game or if they don't make it at a top club.

When said youth player and what ever club is raking in 3k a week at 16 or 17 it sets unrealistic expectations for them. Especially if they don't make the first team and end up being a lower league player. Endless examples of kids at top clubs who got paid way to much ending up flaming out even in the lower league.

Liverpool capping youth wages is a great idea. I never said City is breaking any rules, but its a practice most clubs cant or don't want to compete with.

you specifically called out city for over paying these players. you also complimented city for the schooling they provide. i'm having a hard time seeing a problem with city paying a player $3k a week for several years, while that player is simultaneously receiving a top-notch education. they are clearly given something to fall back on.

tough shite.

Education here stops at 16 if they want. City isn't sending them to university. Its a prep school

exactly why your oil money is a huge part of the problem.

i wouldn't have commented in the thread had not not needlessly called out city.

is it a better prep school than these kids would be attending otherwise? again, i'm failing to see the issue with these kids being paid handsomely while they are getting the same, or better, education than other kids their age.
