no reason to poop in your season thread.

How did Atlanta build their team, i noticed even last year, it wasn't full of decrepit former euro players. You actually had guys with quality still in a younger age.

I know, i read something about ATL picking up a player or 2, from Argentinian league when players went on strike. Was that a a huge benefit?

With teams like atlfc and lafc, they make the games enjoyable to watch. Quality, and they are there to score goals, none of this boring, Mourinho ball.

I've found myself watching more MLS, because of atlanta, and lafc this year.

Also, has the De Boer experience been the same, or better/worse than last coach?

Paul McDonough was an unsung hero in helping to build the roster. He's now with Inter Miami. Tata Martino opened a lot of doors to South America and was integral in getting Almiron. Brought Guzan back over from England. Brought Garza back from Mexico. Veteran presence in Parkhurst paired with a physical guy like LGP (came from Argentina). Got Carmona from Italy (unfortunately had to part ways prior to year 2). Another vet in Larentowicz. Traded cash to get Nagbe. Picked up Gressel in the draft. Got both Asad and Villalba from Argentina. Got Josef from Italy.

We got 3 players from Argentina, but I don't remember anything about a strike. Not saying it wasn't a reason, though.

It also helped bringing in Carlos Bocanegra (GM) with his MLS experience and Darren Eales (President) with his big club English/European experience.

I'd just say different. Tata was able to start a team from scratch and pick many of the players he wanted. DeBoer comes in after we just sold the best player. We start the season trying to make sure they really understood his defensive philosophy before slowly adding in the attack, but then we pick up a ton of injuries (that we're still trying to get over), one of the DPs leaves for a month for the U20 WC, the new DP takes 4 months to figure out the new league and seems to be getting more comfortable. We finally have almost everyone in training for the first time all season and tonight was one of the best games we've played under deBoer. We have a deeper bench than we ever have. With a fully healthy 18, I think we would beat the 2017 team. 2018 broke the record for most points in a season (unfortunately NYRB also broke the record), but I think this year's team could beat them as long as Pity continues to play like he did tonight.
