Your thoughts
I know his career in Spain wasn't the greatest. To be fair he was already 31 and had severe personal problems.

Also, the only Russian keepers with more clean sheets are Yashin and Akinfeev.

Datsyuk, Khabibulin, and Yashin were all born in the same town within years of each other.
Sverdlovsk, which is now Yekaterinburg.
Nicholas II was killed by the Bolsheviks there, and Boris Yeltsin was the city's communist party boss.
Great history.
Oh, and Roman Pavlyuchenko plays there now.

Speaking of Russians in Spain, Valeri Karpin at Sociedad

Don´t recall him. Then again, I had no reason to even remotely follow Sevilla´s exploits back then.
Seems he was famous for driving his car into the same ditch twice, that´s all I´ve got.
Truth be told, that was an era when then had got back to topflight, and I believe he may have played a role in their getting into the UEFA league.
