I mean, it's obvious SCH ain't gonna back down.

This is the guy who is so committed to loving all things British that he thinks grime is good. He's got an iron will.

When did FFP become a british thing? Probably would find more support for it in Germany.

I never said grime is good, Stormzy is good a bunch of the rest is meh.

I expect better from you WSE if your going to come at me like that.

It isn't. I didn't mean to insinuate that it was.

I was using you liking grime (which is so, so bad) as our resident British bruv to show you've gotta stay on brand. And being hardcore committed to your opinions on here is definitely part of that brand. You're not gonna go quietly into the night on this debate.

And I vaguely remember you posting something about how we needed to get on grime some time ago. You might've just mentioned Stormzy. It's all bad to me. I don't care enough to look the post up. Life is meaningless. Eat at Arby's.

Dude, it's not that serious.

And I've been hella busy. International break got me off my game.

the issue is more that you seem to think your point of view is the only legitimate one.

I'd just like to point out the hilarity of the disconnect between DS's posts in this thread (and other QSG threads) and his poli-board posts.

Not really, I'm the contrarian on both boards.

even outside of the reasons why FFP was created a person can still disagree with the concept and mentality.

But it's clear you feel that way bc it was put in place so clubs like yours doesn't spend way beyond its means.

It was a regulation put in place that was needed and the actions of PSG influenced that no one will deny that.

But it's not a conspiracy, it's there to make sure clubs conduct themselves like clubs. Not play things in a dick measuring contest bw Qatar and UAE.

that's part of it but I also:

just flat out don't agree with the traditional view of what a club is "supposed" to be run as to be relevant in 2017. Especially when the fee is paid in full in a lump sum like Neymar's was.

Nor do i think more money coming into the sport is automatically a bad thing.

And even if you don't want to go as far as I am in regards to the why FFP was brought in do you really believe that as it was making the rounds the big clubs didn't see it as an opportunity to prevent more Chelseas? And that maybe that influenced how the legislation was developed? Even a little bit?

Well the problem is this goes way beyond a traditional view of a club. Nation states with endless resources taking their personal fight to the football world is an issue.

again i just disagree that either of those statements are a problem.

#1 the "traditional view" of a club has been pretty radically changed over the last 25-30 years and goes way way way way way beyond what PSG are doing. if you want to be against modern football that's completely fine but you seem to be hyperfocused on 1 or 2 clubs when in reality it's a dramatically bigger thing than that.

#2 Again I just don't agree that a lot of outside money coming into the sport is automatically a bad thing.

What have any of these nation states done that Abromavich, Kroenke/Usmanov, Mittal, Mateschitz, Ortega, or any multi-billionaire couldn't do if they wanted to?

not a thing and regardless of what you think about it, QIA did create commercial sponsorship contracts for the club, which is more than just opening up the pocket book when needed. Believe it or not, PSG does have a budget.
