Denayer needs to really assess where he's at. VK is numero uno. We need a solid #2 for sure. He isn't ready to be that guy. He was solid at Celtic and Gala. He shite the bed in the euros. I don't doubt his talent but even going into last season he was third choice at best. Likely 4th.
Mangala is likely gone and who knows how much vinnie has left in the tank, especially with his injury record. If anything he's probably sitting better now than he was this time last year.

I think he'll let Denayer walk and let Tosin be #4.
Tosin needs to bulk up to handle the physical aspect of the league. Dude is stick thin. Might as well keep Denayer around for one more season and see what he can do, while getting Tosin in the weight room or loaning him down to a lower league side to get him tough.

Ya he's too thin to last a full season. Gonna be a good one tho.

He has shown enough for me to be comfortable with him getting some cup matches but yeah...way too light.

I don't see a reason not to. Mangala has been rumored out. He's 4th choice from the start. Kompany will miss time so he's all but guaranteed to be in the squad then. Why not show Pep what you can do and prove your worth?
While I don't expect him to be a RB at ALL, he has experience there. We aren't exactly swimming in talent there. Zaba is a club legend but age is catching up with him. Sagna was awesome last year but he's old.
Denayer has opportunities at City. He should take advantage of them.

Apparently Caballero will start later today die to Hart's poor run of form.

What the shite?
Hart hasn't looked great during preseason but cabs has been even worse.

Yeah idk. Apparently no one knows who is starting, but Pep apparently is motioning that Hart's future with the club is still uncertain.
Guess we'll see.

Apparently KDB isn't going to start either.
I'd expect our front four to be Aguero up top with Silva behind him and Nolito on the left with Sterling on the right.

What a weird lineup. Look good though.

Willy is so quotable. Last year we got, "this is for the blue people." We're only one game into this season and he drops, "John Stones played today like a fricking player, he plays as he has has been here from the last three or four years."

I assume we are just all gonna ignore that Kolarov was pretty rock solid Saturday lol

he was good. he also looked like he did his part in complying with pep's mandatory minimum body fat percentage.

No Toure, Sane (injury) or Denayer on the trip to Romania.

Reports that the Bravo deal is done and he'll be in Manchester tomorrow for a medical.
Once the team sheet came out Sat this seemed inevitable.

quote:yeah he's definitely lost weight. He was much better than in preseason. I thought he played a part in the goal though. And I still find his jogging around while behind the play infuriating. He gives up on plays and hopes his teammates make a play instead of trying to get back to help.

That said you can see why Pep wants to try him there BC of how important footballing CBs are to his system.
