Well damn. Still unbeaten under Tuchel but scoring remains difficult. Three points would've been nice. Mendy is a beast.

We needed a result after a couple losses so I can’t complain
Mendy and Roberts were good
Good luck in the champions league

This year or next? A little premature for next year.
Love watching Leeds play.

It’s obvious that CHO should be on the field with Reese at all times. Blues miss something with Kovacic not on the pitch. Love Kante but needs to create more offensively because he’s so good on the ball- he can draw defenders with his attacking then can distribute like nobody else on the squad. Capt American is easily moved off the ball and is a defensive liability...he’s not the same guy since his last injury. I think Kai is good up top and was unlucky today. Mount was a non-factor when more is expected of him. Wondering if we’ll ever see Giroud again in a PL match.

Ziyech just doesnt seem physical enough for EPL, seems like he needs to go somewhere else and start fresh. he has skills, you can see what he is trying to do, but he seems to avoid contact and only wants open space to work in

Wake up.
See final 0-0
ESPN quote under picture “Tuchel lacks ‘identifiable goal scorer’ at Chelsea “
Look at lineup to see if Pulisic played.
See the Havertz started and played all 90 up top and Werner and OG where on bench.
Correct me if I’m wrong but aren’t Werner and OG ‘identifiable goal scorers’
As much as I think Werner is overrated he’s still a goal scorer. And a LOT better one than Havertz.

no. if they were, we wouldnt be struggling for goals all year. oli has his moments, timo is in shite form, kai is all potential. was fine with kai getting the start, didnt think he was that poor. def something to build on.
but this team has been making my eyes bleed lately.

I thought Chelsea (and most other people) identified Werner as a goal scorer so they paid $53 million for him to score goals.
And $88 million for Havertz to pass it to Werner.
If Werner and OG are not Chelsea’s striker(goal scorers) put another striker up there. Not a midfielder.
But playing everyone out of position won’t get anyone out of their poor form. It will just prolong it. Look at Pulisic

So Kai has more potential up top than Werner?
I haven’t seen Kai up top. So this is a serious question.

kai has played just about everywhere the past couple seasons, including 9, or false 9. also, timo wasnt a typical 9 at RBL.
both have great goal scoring records their last 2 yrs in germany. Kai could be anything, it would just be down to where they play him and where he excels at.
personally, i thought Lamps seemed to think of Kai ad an 8 in that double attacking 8 433. Kai played that position very well in germany with julian brandt the opposite 8, and Mount could have played that same role. we saw this a couple times but then Kai got hurt and covid, then frank was canned.
Tuchel thinks of Kai as a false 9, hes played there before, so its not really a stretch.
obviously, if Oli or Timo were at double digit goals, there wouldnt be a need to tinker with Kai up top, even though it may end up being his best spot on the field.

someone in this thread compared Havertz to Mueller at Bayern, a roaming scorer/enabler but he doesnt seem to be close mueller’s skill level. havertz got blistered today in postgame for blowing the opportunity in the box because he had his head down the entire play
Werner just seems to be fast, I dont see the comfort or confidence in his ball skills to be the primary striker, he seems incapable of beating anyone one on one with the ball
the 21/22 roster moves will be interesting, Haaland is a fantasy, dont know who else is out there to be acquired

I don’t watch Mitch Chelsea. But I’ll listen to games that are played in the afternoon on the radio so I don’t see a lot of any off the ball movement or have any spacial awareness unless the commentator or newspaper mention it. But I thought Werner was starting to show signs of life lately and think you should possibly keep playing him up top to keep the improvement continually happen.
But again I’m not watching many games

Nice effort from the lads today. Ziyech, Werner, & Kai flashed moments of brilliance playing off of one another. Kante looked like the "old" Kante. Kovacic was Kovacic. The backline and wings were steady, although Reece can play much better. I also liked Rudiger's "David Luiz" impersonation after that red card.
Just wonder where we might be sitting in the Premiership had Thomas taken over much earlier. Hoping for a favorable draw for the quarters (would rather NOT face Bayern or City until at least the semis) and a strong finish to solidify a top 4 league spot.

Really solid W. Ziyech finally shows up. Timo rounding into form. Hell even captain America assisted. Mendy once again beastly and that D has been so very good in the last 13 matches. The way that D is playing, I’m not afraid of anyone going forward including Bayern and City. Announce Tuchel extension.

CL draw could not have gone better for Blues. Porto first and then Liverpool/Real Madrid winner. Avoiding City and Bayern before the finals is optimal. Now take care of Sheffield on Sunday and keep advancing in FA Cup play.
