Yes.

The level of play was solid (especially with only 10).

I’m going to see what the new gaffer brings. He is young, but actually has more experience that Maresca.

Can we beat Charlton today with a new gaffer? If we lose, that poor bastard will start hearing the sack chants.

I have my doubts we can go into the Valley and win today for some reason.

Absolutely

Perhaps, but he isn’t going anywhere.

Given that Strasbourg ran the same system / formation, it shouldn’t be a shock tactically.

My guess (if we don’t lose anyone to cards):

4-2 Blues.

They have parked the bus. It’s going to take two goals to draw them out. With this (slow) back line, they will be happy to pack and counter.

Their fans booing Garnacho with each touch cracks me up.

FWIW - he has played well (yet again). He has put quite a few good balls in. I just don’t get the hate.

In 20 appearances, he has 5 goals and 3 assists.

For a winger, that is excellent production.

Agreed. Nacho has something.

Did what we had to do although it took some time to get going.

How will Liam roll out against gunners in Carabao match on Wednesday? Go all out with starters?

I would think so.

It is a chance to see what his squad has against the current table leaders.

Plus Brentford is at home on the weekend, followed by Pafos (a Cypriot squad) at home. I see them going with the first unit versus tue Bees, and the backup squad being implemented for the Pafos match.

More importantly, it will give him a chance to make a statement in these next three matches.

We will see.

Not digging this League Cup starting XI vs. Arsenal. Even the bench looks sus. But OK.

I've not been the biggest Garnacho fan, but the lad came through in a big way this evening. I'm just hoping for more of the same going forward.

per Matt Law - The club are open to January opportunities to add a new midfielder and a versatile attacker.

+ But defense is currently rated as the most likely position to be strengthened this month.

+ Jeremy Jacquet (Rennes) and Jacobo Ramon (Como) are the two names being linked.

+ Sources claim several of Chelsea’s key players reportedly grew frustrated under Maresca.

+ After replacing the Italian, Rosenior has moved quickly to unite the squad, holding both team meetings and one-to-one talks to understand players’ roles, form, and fitness.

+ With a heavy match schedule, he is unlikely to introduce major tactical changes, instead focusing on small adjustments to gain marginal improvements.

+ One well-placed source said: "The mood has been really good since Liam came in. Not everyone had been entirely happy, but there has been a notable shift and Liam’s communication skills have been really evident."

Some defenders would certainly help.

We always hear the same shite after a gaffer is sacked. “Players were quietly upset in the building.” fricking vaginas. Of course those players who were not in the regular rotation were upset. That’s not on Maresca. All managers will have their favorites and there will always be disgruntled guys who think they should have more minutes. Now if they’re upset over tactics, that’s another thing but nobody was upset when we won the CWC with those same tactics.

this article from matt law is definitely club spin of the narrative
