I very vaguely remember '94 and the pomp & circumstances (I'm always a fan of pomp & circumstance)... esp since its opening was the same day as the OJ chase
being an impressionable low age teenager at the time... seeing Brandi Chastain take off her shirt live on TV in 1999 definitely caught my attention

Seems like I saw on prime TV newscasts in '86 and '90 when Cameroon upset a team, so I've always liked the Indomitable Lions. Was one against Higita, the flamboyant GK for Columbia?
Then 94. That was it. Watched every game I could. Balboa almost made a bike. When we lost to Brazil, were they down 2 men? Dunga and Leonardo ? Wynalda scored in the Detroit Dome. Escobar was later killed when he returned to his country. Mexico with Jorge Campos and his colorful uniforms.
Went to the '96 Olympics in Birmingham v Argentina and Tuninisa. Claudio scored in the first 34 seconds or so and the newbie crowd at Legion did not really clap, applaud or even understand what had just happened. Hernan Crespo scored one of the 3 goals for "Argen-TINA" and just saw Crespo tonite on the World Cup recap show on Fox.
