That's how I got mine. Just ordered this to go with it. Might try a Cruzerlite tpu case if this one doesn't work out. I really like the naked feel, but it makes me nervous.

Running ElementalX kernel right now, with their app for controls.
Better numbers, lot of options.

When you install a kernel, do you have to start over and recover from backup? I think I've done that twice now.

No kernels are fine to just flash and go.

YouTube App Update apk for 1440p video quality in YouTube App
Download that and install, will update your YouTube App to allow 1440p quality on the N6. Works on LG G3 too, or any QHD 2560x1440 display.
Make sure you select 1440p quality in the video of course.
I recommend watching this on it in 1440p first

5.0.1 factory images are releasing now, Nexus 7 10 and 9 are up already.
OTA's should be soon as well.

So if I already flashed a new rom and have it working, I can just flash a new kernel and the rom will be okay without wiping system, dalvik ....

I thought lollipop was going only ART. Is that not true?

You do not need to wipe anything for flashing a kernel on a Nexus device.
Doesn't matter if switching from a different kernel to another, or first time flashing a kernel, no cache wipes are needed.

I'm actually on a htc one. I'm just piggybacking cause I know y'all would be in here.
So it's really just as easy as downloading the kernel to the phone, going to recovery and flash from sd card the kernel reboot and done?

Yes. Boot into twrp, flash kernel, reboot.

Yes indeed. Need an app to control the kernel settings like TricksterMOD or Kernel Tweaker.
Most bigger kernels have their own app from the dev but are normally pay.
Should save to your downloads folder on SD card, very easy to flash.

Just make sure the kernel you install is for your device, or you are fricked.

Unrecoverable bricking?
EDIT: Also, is there seriously not a native setting to disable the ascending volume ring? It also does it when you transition from handset to speaker phone, which is fricking stupid. Apparently there are apps to remove the feature, so I guess I'll look into that.

Haven't experienced myself, but from what I've read that's the one surefire way.
