My uncle (RIP) used to fish the salmon run every year after he retired out to Seattle. He loved it. It’s one thing I wish I’d done with him.

Elfin Cove is a gorgeous place. Little hole in the wall with several lodges, across from Glacier Bay. You can see the Fairweather Range and glaciers across the strait.




Prince of Wales Island outside of Ketchikan has numerous lodges, excellent fishing. As does Whalers Cove outside of Angoon.

The Kenai has a lot of what you would be looking for but will be far more crowded.

A guide at one of the high end lodges on Prince of Wales Islands found himself in the midst of a tipping war and got 20k+ just in tips from two guys.

Ditto on this. In Homer you can catch salmon from the state park at tip and the tidal pool in downtown Homer. From shore. For free.
