Got to Charlotte this morning at 8:00, about to board flight to Aruba. Then AA canceled it. Booked her blue out of charlotte tomorrow at 7 am. I too was caught a few weeks ago in the Southwest mess. Flying blows these days. Supposed to fly delta in a week and a half for a one day business trip. Can’t wait to see how jacked up that one gets.

Thank you, sir!

We made it on the bird—and on time.

Bonus: one of the flight attendants is genuinely 85 years old and mean as a snake. Has gotten on the PA no less than 15 times to remind us to put the masks over our nose and we are ONLY ALLOWED to BRIEFLY lower it to take a bite. Mask back up between bites.

Woke Mrs Crickets up to pull her mask over her nose. Keep in mind we are both Platinum Elite.

Yay American.

Have tried to track it but the flight number comes up with a route between DFW and Mexico, doesn’t show it running between MSY and ORD. Says it’s flight AA 3868

New month for flight schedules starts this week. I'm running into something similar on southwest where everything I track has a completely different number than my flights. Looks like your inbound may be AA3579, arrives MSY at 1:04pm and it's operated by Envoy. It won't be a plane from DFW, MIA, PHL, AUS, DCA, or CLT so nearly 100% sure it comes from ORD in the morning

Flight attendants shouldn't have that much power. I would keep bugging him for drinks/service/getting a bag down from overhead until he would relent. Sorry you got a bad crew, I had some good flight attendants on DFW-SEA a month back

Hearing that the "staff shortages" at AA this past weekend were in fact due to a pilots' strike. Also that AA flight attendants plan to strike over the Thanksgiving holiday. Boy that should be fun if true.

There are still a good chunk of flights cancelled today, if it was a sick call in I wouldn't be surprised but I think it was also a combination of end of month flight hours and not enough reserve crews. If this happens over Thanksgiving people will be pissed

Flight from New Orleans to DFW cancelled. All car rentals are showing no availability. Guess I’ll head downtown and grab dinner somewhere

Just looked and see AA cancelled three MSY-DFW flights today and delayed two others out of 7 total flights. Not good

My hope would be southwest and AA learned that they can't operate the schedules they're creating. If anything hits the fan, they're shite out of luck. As a planner, I'd hope someone within the airlines operations/scheduling department realizes the shitshow they are causing if any weather event, sick out, etc happens. Thought I read Southwest lost $75 million from their cancellations. Money talks.

For Christmas, I'd be cautious. No harm in booking two airlines and cancelling one the day of.

Cuse, have you every flown the BUF-LAX JetBlue flight? I believe it's the only direct flight from upstate NY to LAX so it was really appealing to book for Christmas travel. I'm aware that AA and Southwest have been having their crew issues but don't know if other airlines are heading down a similar path.

It's weird to think that I'm more concerned about air travel cancellations due to personnel vs winter weather.

Hope you're able to get out of there today. Only good news is you were up super early there should be some way to get to Dallas today

Surprisingly, that's the only JetBlue flight out of buffalo I have not taken. I think the inbound plane for it comes from Orlando, it usually goes out full, and it's pretty good timing to head west. I'd book it over Christmas given JetBlue is one of the few that hasn't had a meltdown recently

I told my dad yesterday I'm avoiding a trip to DFW over Thanksgiving, I can visit family another time when it's less busy.

I am flying internationally on AA the day before Thanksgiving for a trip that has been planned for almost a year. The flight there and back goes through DFW.

I am nervous to say the least.

I feel like you should be fine but just know what backup flights are options. So if you have MSY-DFW and you see it's delayed or cancelled, ask for LFT-DFW, BTR-DFW, BTR-CLT-XXX, etc. AA likely prioritizes international flights over domestic ones such as their flights to the EU. For Europe flights, they'd have to pay for people stranded over in Europe with hotels, food, and money based on EU laws. They don't care about the domestic cancellations, only when they're forced to pay

Also, if you take a look, I haven't noticed southwest having huge issues since their meltdown a few weeks ago. Maybe they got things under control?

Same boat. My flight on Sunday is OKC-DFW and then catching the British Airways flight to London. I'm supposed to have only a 1 hour layover if everything is on time and so far this week every AA flight from OKC-DFW has been 1.5 to 2 hours delayed...

CuseTiger…

QF3020 from Miami to Los Angeles tomorrow, leaving Miami at 4:20PM.

Should I expect any problems? Have a 2.5 hour layover in LA before going to Sydney.

Thanks if you see this.

There are several flights going to DFW that morning and we picked one with 2 in between us just in case. Picked a much longer layover because of all this shite.

It’s to the EU. That info is good to know.

You are looking good for tomorrow to LAX. Plane comes from JFK arriving Miami around noon giving plenty of time for the turnaround to LAX
