Thinking about driving down from L.A. for a long beach/wine weekend ... has anyone done this? Seems safe enough. I would hire a driver for the wineries and strictly drive down and back during the day.

We‘ve done it several times. Usually rent a car in TJ and make the pretty ~2 hour drive to the Ruta del Vino. Lots of cute air bnbs down there. Incredible food there. Had one of the best meals of my life at Fauna.
