Hersheypark and Knoebels amusement parks in PA

Anyone been to these amusement parks recently? I am trying to find an alternative vacation since the wife wants to go on another Disney trip and I don’t think it’s worth it anymore. I went to Hershey as a kid and remember having a blast, never been to Knoebels. Our youngest is 8 and we would definitely drive to make a road trip out of it.

Hershey park is a fun time. They've got a waterpark area, good rides, and the chocolate factory tour. I'd check your kids heights and see what rides they can go on before you get there just to have expectations of what is/isn't possible for the youngest. The renaissance fair is nearby if that's going on as well as Lancaster for some good Amish cooking and history. Would recommend that area for a trip

We're planning to hit Hersheypark for a day on our road trip through that part of the country this summer.

We went to Hersheypark and Cedar Point about 15 years ago and loved it. Not sure how it is now. Go check it out on Tripadvisor. Many parks have changed ( including Disney, Universal Studios) due to Covid.... shortage of employees, rides not always up and running, etc...

Took the kids to Herseypark this past fall. Weather was cold/windy so some of the larger rollercoasters were not operating but the silver lining was we had virtually no waits. We are less than 2 hours away from Hershey though. Would I invest a long a long road trip to go…probably not. But amusement parks are always places I’ve been forced to go to.
I thought Coney Island and LegoLand (SD) were great experiences. But then we lived nearby and the kid’s were all under 7.

Hershey Park will offer you more to do/ride. There are more restaurants in Hershey, an outlet mall, etc...
Knoebels is in Elysburg, which doesn't have anything it, plus that additional drive up 81 from Hershey to Elysburg sucks. On top of that, the park itself isn't that great.
I worked a project up there in 2018. Take my advice and don't even entertain the idea of Knoebels. Go to Hershey 10 times out of 10 when choosing between these two options.

Thanks. I don’t know anything about Knoebels except that it’s old and on a bunch of top 10 list for some reason. I figured it may be worth a day trip to go check it out
