So circumstances are preventing us from traveling very far at the moment, and I'm itching for a getaway. Would love to hear about your favorite hidden gem b&bs, AirBnBs, etc in SE LA/MS/southern AL. I don't need to be entertained, but decent to good food in the immediate area would be nice. Pls help me with some suggestions. TIA.

I’ll often find myself with two consecutive days off during the middle of the week. My wife and I will drive down to pass Christian and stay at the hotel whiskey. Carry our own chairs and umbrellas and set up on a deserted stretch of beach with a dune between us and hwy 90 . Read books, drink, listen to music, and feel like we own the beach. There are a couple of decent restaurants in pass Christian, several in bay St. Louis, and many between Gulfport and ocean springs.

ETA: we also enjoy the Malaga Inn in Mobile. The historic rooms have charm.
