What part of town should I stay in and any dinner recs? TIA

Downtown, Crossroads, Plaza areas all would be solid. Those three areas are situated in order from North to South along ~4 miles stretch, so all near each other. I love Crossroads and it has the highest concentration of great restaurants/bars/breweries of any area, in my opinion. Anywhere along this stretch is going to put you right in the action.

As for food, it really depends what you want. Below is a recent thread of dining suggestions in the city. I ate at Farina last night and solidified my opinion that it's my favorite restaurant in town.

Thanks man. Booked a room at Westin crown center and walked to Farina for dinner. It was top notch. Great rec.

Stayed at the Sheraton at Crown place a few weeks ago. Kansas City is a fun town.
