Is there any way you can get behind the Hollywood sign, or is that specifically reserved for Warner Bros movies?

My understanding is that there are hiking trails that do run behind the sign, but it’s not like you get right up close like in ridiculous movies.

They’ve got that sign fenced off and monitored closely. Every now and then you hear a story in the news about some dumbass that hops the fence and climbs the sign, only to have LAPD choppers shining a light on them.

I do not plan on going to restaurants or bars, so the requirements will not affect me.

You can get this close.

One of my favorite hikes is to the Wisdom Tree. It's just down the ridge from the Hollywood sign. It's more of a hike as the HS is more walking up a winding road.

You are going to be seriously tight on time to do things with such a small window to explore. I recommend finding some things very close to where you stay and then maybe one long adventure. FYI you are going to be tired as F after the game day and long travel. Good luck on Monday attempting to go to work. I would not be able to do it. I always come back at least a day early from an LA or west coast trip.

Hollywood was the worst single day in my entire life. You couldn’t pay me to go back there.

If you like seafood I highly recommend Water Grill. There is a location in Santa Monica. It is my favorite restaurant

How’s the water grill in Costa Mesa compared to Santa Monica ?

Been to LA several times, but only once did I go to Hollywood… was there for a couple hours and absolutely hated it. To each his own, of course, but I’m with you.

I stopped hitting up that area when the homeless took over. It looks like a tent city now.

Maybe it’s because Venice is a homeless shite show and I didn’t notice the problem in Santa Monica, but the two were night-and-day. I really, really like Santa Monica, though I mostly stay off the promenade when I visit since I don’t have much reason to shop.

Venice is what it is, but I like grabbing coffee on Abbot Kinney then walking through the Venice Canals. Nice way to start the AM.
