Will be first time ever going, with wife and two kids youngest being 10 years old. There is so much to see and do but it's all spread out so trying to narrow it down. I really want to do some beach time but also want to see and do some more adventurous stuff too.

My initial thought is to spend a couple days at Manuel Antonio area for beach and possibly a fishing charter. And spend a few days in La Fortuna area to try zip lining, white water rafting and whatever else is good to see do there.

Open to any suggestions but think I should at least have towns picked out before researching hotels and excursions or activities. Do you think the distance between these two locations is too much for a 6-7 day trip? TIA for any feedback here.

ETA I just saw the thread a few posts down. Will read through that now.

I answered this on another thread today, but we had a blast on a whitewater rafting trip on the Rio Reventazon.
