Awesome. Thanks.
You're going this month?
If you're gonna be there in July then let me know.

That's currently our plan. May 18th-22nd. Really hope we don't have to cancel another vacation...

Went to Los Suenos. Well worth it. Great property, great fishing. Close to Jaco for, you know.

Went in mid-March. It was great, the staff is super nice and accommodating.
They have a small beach area that you can walk to, they have some free kayak rentals and whatnot; the sand is also remarkably soft (if you indulge in an edible beforehand it becomes hard to leave, as my wife found out
). We walked down there at night and saw the most stars, aside from being in West Texas, maybe ever. So that was pretty dang cool.
We were only there for a short time and so stayed on the resort property...future visits I definitely want to explore the national parks Costa Rica has to offer!
Also, their hotel site is very helpful: Andaz Pura Vida

Well we got back Saturday and everything was great. The resort was very enjoyable for the trip we were looking for. Peaceful and relaxing. Literally located in the middle of the jungle, so there is lots of wildlife around the resort.
The seafood restaurant, Ostra, was closed while we were there, but they brought over some of those menu items to the main restaurant, Rio Bhongo, that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner.
There is another restaurant, Chao Pescao, only open for dinner. I'd suggest this over Bongo as the food was better and better selection.
Like mentioned, we did golf at the Ocean Course at Peninsula Papagayo Wednesday morning and had lunch after at the grill overlooking 18. The course is in excellent condition with amazing views. The shuttle runs every 30 minutes from the Andaz, hopped on an hour before tee time and tee'd off right on time. Take your time on the course, I never saw another group the entire day, and that includes the hour lunch post round.
We did the spa another morning and then hung out at the pool our last full day. We did go down to the beach house one day, which was a nice change of pace. I'd suggest going after breakfast, enjoy the morning down there and get some lunch from there and then head back.
The tabs do run up fairly quickly the 10% service charge and 13% VAT. I bought a bottle of Titos at the duty free in the airport. Helped out when I was in the room between activities.
We didn't do any adventures this trip. We will definitely be returning to do all things CR in the future.
Let me know if you got any questions, I'll check back from time to time.
Pura Vida!

Heading to Costa Rica in a few weeks. What did you guys do for your Covid tests to get back to the US? It's become a serious PIA for our trip. And what pisses me off is that the wife and I are both fully vaccinated...but apparently that still doesn't mean dick traveling back to the US.

Pura Vida is the waaaaay
We went to Tamarindo a couple months ago and it was phenomenal. Most laid back I've ever felt.

Just got back. Our resort (Nayara) arranged for a PCR test in our room. If that doesn’t work, they do rapid tests at the airport when you leave. You just have to get there early enough. You can arrange for the rapid test on arrival. Costa Rica has their act together on bringing back tourists who have been vaccinated even though they have been able to vaccinate less than 1% of their own population.

Like Springbok mentioned, we got our COVID test at the resort. We did the anti-gen test, got the results back that night, and showed that email to the gentleman at the airport.
