Caught in the belly of the beast. I have never had a flight cancelled, much less dealt with politico-pandemic related mass flight issue.

World travelers on here explain it to me. What do I do?

Current hotel secured for another night. On terminal hold with SWA. Those are the things we are doing currently. Going on SWA website currently shows only a flight available Tuesday. Today is Sunday.

Over 1,000 flights cancelled today (27% of daily total). If anyone needs rebooking help, first suggestion is book on another airline

Should we expect southwest to make things right in these situations?

Unfortunately it looks like most flights MSY to DFW today are $$$$

$1000 on AA for main cabin on a 1 hour flight haha

Hope for it but don't expect it. On the OT thread bluegrass had a great point about southwest not having interline agreements with other airlines. This means they can't rebook you on AA, DL, UA, etc. when your flight is cancelled. You have to completely buy a new ticket or drive.

For $1000, you better be driving

Wife was able to change to a different flight time for today, but I doubt it even takes off and they won’t let her add me as a companion either and the flight is now unavailable.

What you're going to have to do is watch availability like a hawk. If it increases and there is a seat available, then you'll have to call in (assume you can't do companion online?) and pray the seat is still there. If you can do it online then as soon as you see a seat available try it again

If they’re still selling spots…safe to assume they have a pilot?

I’ve been putting off heading to the car rental spot.

Orlando back home to Houston.

:( nothing into houston the rest of today. Found one option but you aren't going to like the price. $700 on American, Orlando- Miami- Austin.

I guess first question- How much longer can you stay in Orlando or are you needing to get out today? Not sure we can get you to houston, but wondering if getting you to anywhere else close will work? Second, southwest is going to be a mess, are you willing to spend the $$$ and fly another airline?
