So if you don't already know, Southwest is having a 50th year anniversary sale right now. 50% off flights if you book between 6/15-6/17(today).
I didn't see a thread on this, I may have just missed it BUT I just booked a trip to Colorado for 75$/ticket. We are trying to book at least one more trip somewhere but things are selling out fast.
I would advise anyone to jump on this deal, if even for a weekend. Great pricing and FINALLY things are opening back up!

Travel days have to be from 9/15-11/3. That is the parameters of the 50%. I just did it for a random weekend in October and it gave me the discount.

Yeah I'm an idiot. Did book my flights for a golf trip in October though

Very nice. I'm going to Denver for the same. It originally started as a trip to go see the Dunes, but I've got friends up there that want to golf, so I'm sure I'll play 18.
That's one of the main reasons I fly Southwest. Clubs fly free.

Damn, I just looked at Denver and the leg there is $75 but the return is still nearly $300. Still ends up being nearly $600 for 2 roundtrips.

Book two one-ways. There on southwest, back on united/etc.

I just looked all over. You are basically getting the "anytime, refundable" rate for the "get away, non-refundable" price.
This is mainly due to the "get away" price being booked up.
There are a few routes where you can score half off.
But, all of the big ticket flights are taken (as one would expect). Hawaii, Caribbean, etc.
The main benefit is that you can get flights during this 9/15-11/3 window at the get away price, when normally... it's all booked up and you'd have to pay double.
Still, it's a nice thing for them to do.

That is crazy. I booked mine Halloween weekend,
flight there
Thursday evening 6:30 land at 8-9pm $71.23
flight home
Sunday evening flight home 7:45 $76.55
Total was 170 after taxes and fees. I would suggest you to use their "low fare calendar" if your dates are flexible.

I didn't even think to look into flying outside the states. I booked another trip to see the Redwood Nation Forrest in that window for 200 bucks / a person for round trip.
Of course the cut off is 11/3...I would have liked to have gotten a 50% off flight to Nashville for the Saints/Titans game. I went to book a flight anyway and it's damn near sold out already...I might have to search outside of Southwest if I want to go.

Just booked New Orleans to Louisville for LSU Kentucky game

Why is Dallas to NOLA, one of the shortest hops there is ALWAYS the most expensive! Ugh. Looks like I am driving again.
