Just a heads up I had a flight change on an upcoming trip flying United and got 0 notice from United. Went through email, text etc and nothing. Looks like the original route I booked doesn't exist anymore. Went to their page and picked a new flight without a problem. If you have upcoming travel with United then you may want to check on your itinerary. Concerning that I got 0 notifications.

But you can fly for free if you get vaccinated... fair trade off?

If I were forced to pick between United, American, or Spirit.....Spirit would be given a damn good look! On that note, I'd really, really, really have to be somewhere to fly any of those.

They've changed 3 of my flights within the past 6 months without notifying me at all.

I only learned of it when I logged into their website to just randomly check my upcoming trips.

Happened to me in February when Houston / Texas got hammered with the ice storm. I was connecting through IAH to RSW and when I went to check in, it only had IAH>RSW, not my origin. Spent over 4 hours with customer service on the phone because I spoke to a non English native and he didn’t understand that I didn’t give a flying F about if I flew into IAH or any surrounding airport. I said my end goal is to get to RSW from my original airport. The system had kicked out my origin departure and acted as if it never existed.

Mind you, I noticed around 4pm day before a 6am flight. After the 4 hour fiasco calling in, getting disconnected, forwarded to a parking garage (kid you not), I was finally able to figure it out on their app. Got a first class ticket out of it— again, not because anything United provided for me.

Complained online to customer service. Got the typical response “we’ll do better, blah blah blah”. I see they still suck. You can complain and get a $50 voucher. I hate that airline.

Very common these days as the airlines adjust to unpredictable travel patterns coming out of Covid.

Key it to get the app for your airline. That’s the best way to receive and adapt to schedule changes.

And don’t fly Spirit.
