I'm wondering if there was always availability on that flight and they were just giving me the runaround

They were telling you the truth on that unfortunately. It wasn't until your RNO flight cancelled that a group of 5 or 6 seats became open on the BTR flight (guessing a family cancelled their trip). Weird coincidence but take what you can get

I see you're about to board if you're not already on the plane. Sorry was skiing today but done now. Looks like your reno flight is also delayed until 825pm, inbound is landing around 740pm from Newark. You should still be okay.

Saw you didn't take off until 626pm and landing at 757pm. It's gonna be close, you need someone from your party to run when you get to Denver. Have someone else ask the gate agent at your arriving gate if they can call the gate agent for your Reno flight. I think there's probably so many of you connecting that they hold the plane, but don't count on it. B42 for reno

Awesome, glad to hear. Was worried with the newark flight, but it taxied for 24 min after it landed which helped you out a bunch. Enjoy the skiing

And let the flight canceling begin.. currently stuck on the runway in Denver (flight to dfw). Connecting flight to aex already canceled. This one is delayed and hanging on by a thread I feel like.

I knew someone from the ski thread was flying home today but couldnt remember who. I'm at home today so happy to try and help however I can.

So your current flight is AA 1594 (Flightaware link) that shows you aren't going to take off for DFW until 10:01MST even if you end up leaving the gate at 9:31am like expected. DFW is having major issues today but I am seeing flights start to depart and arrive. The fact your flight hasn't cancelled like that 6am is a good thing

All flights from Dallas to anywhere in Louisiana near Alexandria have been cancelled. The closest you could get is to Nola on a 2:55pm flight or an 8:20pm flight and at that point I'd recommend staying put in Dallas or driving the 5 hours home.

American just cancelled my 6am flight out of LFT on Wednesday

The text notification says they are working to rebook us and will send an update Im sure I shouldn't trust that they are actually trying to rebook us. Suggestions at this point?

This is going to take some effort so don't mind me while I browse around. Wednesday doesn't look great to fly through Dallas, everything between now and wednesday afternoon is cancelled for LFT-DFW. The DFW to Maui flights are still going, but you need to get to dallas somehow. Driving is probably your best bet in this case.

Do you have flexibility to drive to dallas? Do you have flexibility to leave on tuesday instead of wednesday?

Thanks bro. I saw one going into btr and one in msy that each landed around 4ish. The problem would be driving home. I think most all major roadways in Louisiana that I would need are closed. At least according to state police website they are. May just have to stay in Dallas a night and catch the 235pm to aex tomorrow.

I would gladly drive the 5 hours from Dallas if the roads were open.

That one is cancelled already as well...

The BTR flight today I wouldn't be surprised if it cancelled, but as of current it's on time. There's 2 seats left, may be worth it? Find your way back from BTR tomorrow?

So your options as of current-
1. Stay in dallas until tomorrow, try and rent a car then drive the 5 hours home
2. Try for AA3592 today and get to Baton Rouge this afternoon. Find a hotel or friends house then make your way back tomorrow

Im not sure i could even make it there for Wednesday at 9am

We are kind of flexible but we have hotel reservations Wed-Sun. If the AA rebooking is thursday or Friday im just going to call it off.

Yep. Looks like I was a little slow on the trigger and the br flight looks off the table. May just rent a car when we land in Dallas and take it slow on home today. I dont see road closures on the map from Dallas to alexandria right now.

No you are not, we're gonna get you out of there and to Hawaii.

For the flexibility end, I was more referring to getting out of Louisiana. Like can you leave tomorrow afternoon/evening out of Nola instead of Wednesday morning? There's seats on Nola-Phoenix tomorrow at 3:38pm and then you could take PHX-Maui wednesday at 11:10am. Would that work?
