Italian swimmer Thomas Ceccon, who won a gold medal in the men's 100m backstroke, has criticized the conditions in the Olympic Village, which is housing 15,000 athletes...
quote:

“There is no air conditioning in the village, it’s hot, the food is bad,” Ceccon said after failing to reach the men's 200m backstroke final, per The Sun. “Many athletes move for this reason: it’s not an alibi or an excuse, it’s the reality of what perhaps not everybody knows.

“I’m disappointed that I didn’t make the final, but I was too tired. It’s hard to sleep both at night and in the afternoon. Here, I really struggle between the heat and the noise.”
Since then, he's found a new place to lay his head... (The Spun)

Probably shouldn't hold the olympics in a 3rd world country

Didn’t the US men’s basketball team check out right away and go pay out of pocket for a luxury hotel?

They said before the games that they aimed to keep village temps in the 78-82°F range(to show solidarity with the climate change activists) and most US teams were bringing their own a/c. I’m so sick of the virtue signaling

Seems like the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro were better organized and had less crime.
