Following LSU's 12-3 win over Louisiana Tech on Tuesday night, head coach Jay Johnson spoke with reporters and was asked about pitcher Gavin Guidry, who has yet to appear in a game this season.

Johnson said that Guidry will not pitch in the Oklahoma series this weekend, but they are hoping he will be available for the Auburn series.

I hope everyone realizes that he's just stringing you guys along. He will say this every weekend and Gavin will not play the entire season.

Long narrative is still sticking. In other words, he isn't coming back this year)real reason not disclosed). He will return as a redshirt Jr next yr.

All these experts on TD. I wonder if Yeskie knows how much easier his job would be if he just called up some of these guys on here?

LSU needs more pitchers who can throw strikes. They can't get any more, so someone needs to figure out how to get the relievers that we have to throw strikes. Not much difference from last year except we play the front half of the schedule easy. We may end up losing a lot of games at the end of the season

The inability to throw strikes is troubling, but how wild some of them are is worse. How did Mayer make it this far? I know he throws hard but man, he is nowhere near the strike zone.

They are trying to throw too hard. The heat is the only metric that the coaches seem to care about these days.

Wasted this poor kid. He was a shortstop…Gatorade player of the year. Forced him into mediocre pitching role. He should have transferred where his talents would have been used.
