That’s great. But we aren’t comparing Smoke and Jay by their coaching abilities or overall success. We are just talking about this team this year. In which THIS team could very well end up worse record wise than any of Smokes teams. We aren’t saying Jay is automatically another smoke if it does happen lol.

I love Jay and he’s an elite coach. But I’m afraid this year may end up worse than any of Smokes years.

What a dumbass comment. For one, no coach wins the CWS with lesser talent you idiot. Two, Paul Skenes did not throw a single pitch in the entire championship series against UF and LSU won it all. And 3, Skenes was not playing for LSU in 2025 when they won it all. Goodness gracious do better man.

Probably the 2020 team. They were going to be pretty dang bad if Covid didn’t save them and cancel the season.
But as far as this years team, i don’t currently see them making it to 12 conference wins, much less the 13 or 14 they actually need to even have a shot at a regional.

LSU never has that one white guy that is absolutely deadly from 3.

This. These guys are incapable of stringing together 3 or more big base hits in an inning and maneuver runs across. If they don’t hit a solo HR then they aren’t scoring. Also error after error after error after error after error in the field causing a plentiful amount of free runs to the opponents has plagued this team all year. That means absolutely nothing lol. LSU was ranked that high based strictly on because they are LSU and they are defending national champs. Yes we all thought this group of guys that Jay brought in was going to make some noise but it turns out they are just not that good. Not good enough for the SEC anyway.

Especially collegiate coaches. I wouldn’t think twice about coaching in the professional league over college now with all the NIL and transfer portal bull shite that college coaches have to deal with today. Just trying to retain the current players on your team in college is a 24/7 365 day a year job.
At this point most of our players have to realize by now that they just suck.
